English Club: Love and Pancakes

Two important days arrive on the same week in Britain this year: Pancake Day (Tuesday 9th February) and Valentine’s Day (Sunday 14th February). Come to AEON to celebrate them at English Club!
We’ll start by discussing the legend of St. Valentine, different traditions of Valentine’s Day across the globe and how it is celebrated today in Britain. This will be followed by a discussion of a passage from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Then we’ll celebrate Pancake Day together, the day on which British people mark the start of Lent by eating pancakes. We will learn the history of the day, and then eat pancakes and practise tossing them in frying pans (see cover image)!
This event costs 1000 AMD, including usual AEON drinks and snacks – and pancakes of course!
