(En) Paris, the Gare du Nord, anything can come along, even trains. We’d like to stay but we have to hurry on... Like the thousands of lives that intersect at the station, Ismaël, Mathilde, Sacha and Joan are going to meet there. Every day, Ismaël is dazzled, fascinated and exhausted by the place. He sees Mathilde for the first time on a suburban train platform. They gradually fall in love. They meet Sacha and Joan. Sacha is looking for his missing daughter while Joan spends her life in the station between Lille, London and Paris. The station is a world apart, frequented by everyone: the French, immigrants, emigrants, travellers, and ghosts. It’s an intersection where each life passes quickly and vanishes.
(Fr) Paris, de nos jours. Ismaël, jeune fils d'immigré, est fasciné par la Gare du Nord au point d'en avoir fait le sujet de sa thèse de sociologie. Chaque jour, il arpente les couloirs et les quais de la gare dans l'espoir d'en savoir davantage sur ce lieu traversé par des milliers de vies. A la sortie d'un RER, une femme d'une cinquantaine d'années accepte de répondre à ses questions. Elle s'appelle Mathilde et enseigne l'histoire. Au fil de leur rencontre, ils croisent Sacha, un père à la recherche de sa fille disparue, et Joan, une jeune cadre qui passent sa vie entre Lille, Londres et Paris. Peu à peu, Ismaël et Mathilde tombent amoureux...
