Book Presentation (Charity sales) - Inflation forecasting

It is our pleasure to inform you that presentation of Hovsep Patvakanyan’s book “Inflation forecasting: how much should we care about external factors?” will take place on September 24th, 19:30 at Elite Plaza (Mantashev Ballroom).
Besides the author, speakers of the presentation include:
1. Dr. Aleksandr Grigoryan – President of the Armenian Economic Association, Chair of the MBA program at AUA;
2. Dr. Armen Darbinyan – former Prime Minister in Armenia, Rector of Slavonic University in Armenia;
3. Mrs. Armineh Manookian – Economist at International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The guests include professionals from Central Bank of Armenia, Ministry of Economy, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, as well as Parliament members.
The presentation of the book will be followed by the on-spot sales with 75% discount - 9 euro, and all the raised funds will be redirected to the socially vulnerable family of Ghevondyan Gevorg and Karine from Gyumri. The household consists of the parents 3 sons (15, 10, 7 years old respectively) and a daughter suffering from epilepsy with no proper medical treatment. Neither of the parents are employed and sustain their 6-member family by the monthly benefit package of 45.000 (80 EUR).
About the Book
The book has been published in Saarbrücken, Germany under the trademark of OmniScriptum and received 1st Krikor Artzruni Award by Armenian Economic Association, endorsements from professionals at Central Bank and Ministry of Economy. The book covers a wide range of actual matters for the Armenian economy: to which extent it depends on the remittances from Russia, how the world prices of food stuff transmit onto the domestic prices in Armenia, how much the Russian monopoly on gas costs Armenian population and which layers of the society (geographic and income) suffer the most from the gas price hike, measurements of the export losses after joining the Eurasian Economic Union due to the Central Bank monetary policy, what inflationary trends to expect in 2016 and 2017, etc.

About the Author
H. Patvakanyan holds Ph.D in Economics and is currently working as Economic Expert at Jacobs, Cordova & Associates and Lecturer on “Advanced Econometrics” at Slavonic University. His experience covers work with organizations and institutions such as OSCE, European Commission, World Vision Armenia, UN Association, Government of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, US Embassy in Armenia, International Visegrad Fund, etc. and publications in Austria, Germany, Ukraine and Armenia. He is also one of the 2 founders of EYP Armenia, educational platform with the annual outreach of 3600 people, and current active members amounting to 1200.
