Banknotes and Their Design: A Talk by Swiss Designers

«Թղթադրամը մի կտոր թուղթ է, որը ինչ-որ կերպ համարվում է արժեքավոր։ Մենք հետաքրքրված ենք «ինչ-որ կերպ»-ով։ Ի՞նչն է թղթադրամը դարձնում արժեքի առարկա և ստիպում մեզ հավատալ դրա կարևորությանը»։
Շվեյցարական ֆրանկի նոր շարքի հեղինակներ, դիզայներներ Մանուելա Ֆրունդերն ու Ադրիան Հեուբերգերը Հայաստանում են և Թումո Երևանի ուսանողների հետ անցկացնում են թղթադրամների դիզայնի աշխատարան։ Սեպտեմբերի 1-ին նրանք Միրզոյան գրադարանում դասախոսություն կանցկացնեն, որի ընթացքում կխոսեն թղթադրամը «արժեքավոր» դարձնող գործոնների մասին և կներկայացնեն շվեյցարական թղթադրամի կոնցեպտի և դիզայնի մշակման ընթացքը։

"A banknote is a piece of paper that, for some reason, has value. We’re interested in the 'some reason.' What is the 'some reason' why paper money has value? What propels us to believe that it is the bearer of value?"
The designers behind the new Swiss franc banknotes, Manuela Pfrunder and Adrian Heuberger are in Armenia and, with students from TUMO Yerevan, leading a banknote design workshop. On September 1st, Mirzoyan Library will be hosting a lecture where they’ll be discussing the “value” of paper money, and presenting the processes and concepts behind the development of the new Swiss banknotes.
