On May 6th, at 4: 30 pm, Naregatsi Art Institute within the framework of "Art Studies" project will host a meeting-discussion on the topic "Victorious Self-defense of Van - 102 Years".
“No more sorrow…” - we can start with Meschyan’s phrase.
Throughout history we have had many losses, especially deep is the trail left by the Genocide perpetrated against the Armenians during the First World War, the wounds of which have not been healed yet.
But we were not a herd of submissive animals and are not now as well.
We are a nation with a high sense of freedom, dignity and justice that are willing to fight and struggle until the last drop of blood for the sake of their brothers and sisters.
This is also evidenced by the victorious self-defense of Van.
We will learn about our history for the period of April and May 1915, and will have a discussion on this heroic victory in Van, which took place on May 5 with the complete liberation of Van, without any intermediary forces.
Guest speakers will be Gagik Ginosyan, Artsakh war participant, Karin Traditional Song & Dance Ensemble Artistic Director and historian, YSU professor, president of the Young Historians Association Lilit Mkrtchyan and others.
