Street Slang: AEON English Club
Are you having problems understanding English/American slang (informal street words)? Come to English Club next week to learn and practice fun English slang.
“Person 1: Listen bro, mad heads are gonna turn up this weekend, you down?
Person 2: Nah, I’m gonna play ball with the boys, so I’ll be mad tired.
Person 1: That’s cool, broski. Let’s chill next week after I smash these final exams.
Person 2: Sounds cool, brosef. Peace.
Person 1: Peace”
Slang, like idioms, often confuse students of the English language. Slang changes not only with each generation, but every year. As new music and films become popular, new vocabulary develops. Even native speakers have difficulty keeping up with new slang. However, in another amazing AEON event, we will cover some of the current slang, and put it into practice with a fun activity. This will be a great opportunity to practice your English and expand your vocabulary.
Our host will be Shant Tamazian, a half-Armenian and half-Peruvian native English speaker from the United States. He is volunteering in Yerevan with Birthright Armenia, and loves to have discussions about the stranger things in life.
Entrance is 1000 AMD, including AEON’s usual tea, coffee and snacks.
