XIX դարի վերջ: Պարսից շահը ծխախոտի վաճառքի մենաշնորհը տալիս է անգլիացիներին: Ռուսաստանն ի պատասխան դադարեցնում է ցորենի արտահանումը Պարսկաստան: Շուտով վրա է հասնում սովը, և սկսվում է խասփուշների՝ ընչազուրկ գյուղացիների ու արհեստավորների ապստամբությունը:

The endof the 19th century. Shah of Persia endows England with the monopoly over the tobacco trade. Russia responds to that by blocking the wheat exports to Persia. Famine comes upon the land, and Khas-Pushs- the poorest peasants and craftsmen- start a rebellion.
